Real Estate News from Cordon Real EstateCourts that hear complaints for tenant evictions and judgments are now closed throughout California and not accepting new unlawful detainer (eviction) complaints. Sheriff’s have suspended lock-outs, the act of deputies physically removing tenants the courts have evicted. April 6th has been published as the re-opening date for the courts, subject to change of course. Current emergency rules in the State of California do not permit landlords to evict tenants, so if you have a problem with a tenant due to non-payment of rent or other lease violation that would normally be cause for eviction, consult your attorney.
